Sensitive hairs on the face, feet and tail which warn of approaching predators

Usually solitary and territorial except in spring when breeding takes place

The mole must eat almost two-thirds of it's body weight in food per day (mainly worms)

They can move at two miles per hour and can dig up to approx 30 metres in twenty four hours causing extensive damage to property
